-*- And so the offer goes to...  

On a happy Wednesday morning, a happy girl receives two happy calls.

*Names have been altered to protect the identity of the persons

First call:
P*: Hi, I'm P calling from HPB. I am happy to inform you that you have been selected for the temporary position that you have applied for. Is it okay to start work on Friday?

-HPB=Health Promotion Board
-= GOVERNMENT!!!
-=GOOD PAY!!!
-Application was sent in on Monday (i.e two days before)
-Interview was on Wednesday morning (i.e less than two hours before the call)
-Temp job (i.e I can quit whenever I want, they can sack me whenever they want, I get paid by the hour)
-Good pay = $10.50 per hour!

Me: HUH?!? Didn't I just go for the interview, like an hour ago?? (yes, my exact words) P:Yes, and we would like you to start work on Friday, is that okay?

>some discussion on procedure of salary, days of notice to be given etc.
>an Incoming Call (to be known as Call No.2 thereafter), which went to Missed Call

Me: Okay, I'll be there 8:30 on Friday! See you then! Thanks!
P: Okay, bye!

Second Call (i.e the Missed Call) called back:
E*: Hi Happy Girl*! This is E calling from East West.
Me: Yes?
E: Okay, after some consideration, and discussion with the rest, we have decided to give you the chance to try.

-Marcomms for a premium travel agency
-I WANT THIS JOB!!!!!!!!

Me: OH MY GOD!! OH MY GOD! OH MY GOD!!!!!! (thinks to self)
Me: (for real) Okayyyyyyyy... That means?
E*: So we have to discuss some stuff now...

>discussions and some haggling

E: Okay, I'll get the person to draw up the employment letter and call you up to come by to sign it soon!
Me: YES YES YES YES YES !!!!!!! (thinks to self)
Me: (for real) Okay! Thanks A LOT! I hope I won't disappoint you! Bye!
E: Bye!

And so, Happy Girl gets TWO job offers. Of course she chose the one she is SO MUCH MORE excited about. And she called back P to reject the position soon after.

But Happy Girl still is a little paraniod. What if they change their mind? What if I won't get to sign the letter? What if it's not real? WHAT IF???

For Happy Girl's sake, the call to ask her to go down and sign the paper better come soon. Otherwise, she may go crazy..

But Happy Girl is really happy!

And on top of everything, Happy Girl is very grateful to everyone who has encouraged her, helped her, supported her, and most important, GAVE HER MONEY to survive the past few months.. So, mainly my parents la.. I love them to the max! They were not pushy, never expected too much from me, encouraging, and extremely careful with their advice, and they didn't hurry me the least bit.. They won't see this, but...
I LOVE YOU, DADDY MUMMY!!! :)

And grateful to the rest her family, Erjie Dajie Korkor and BB Rhys! Hee Rhys of all people! Cos he was the one who entertained me the most of this period! Whahahaha...

And of course her dearestest!!! Thanks VINCENT FU XISHUN!!!! Thanks for Seeeeeeeminoleeeeee! Thanks for EVRYTHING!!! Muacks!!!!!
